Go Red is the American Heart Association’s national cause campaign to increase awareness of heart disease – the leading cause of death for women – and to inspire women and men to take charge of their heart health. The movement harnesses the energy, passion and power women have to band together and collectively wipe out heart disease.
1 in 3 women die of heart disease. It is the leading cause of death in women, killing more women collectively than the next four causes of death combined.
90 % of all women have at least one risk factor for heart disease.
63% of women who experience a cardiac event have no previous symptoms of heart disease.
